In 2018, Bauer released their Bauer Supreme 2S Pro Grip Senior hockey stick. The entire Supreme stick lineup features key upgrades with ACL technology, DuraFlex resin, and a special weight reduction to provide the best Supreme stick as of 2018.
Throughout the shaft, Bauer used TeXtreme carbon fiber, but in this iteration, they added DuraFlex resin to the interior, making the stick more durable and lighter, weighing 415 grams, five grams lighter than the top model from 2017. Moving to the blade, Bauer combined their Renewcore blade with eLASTech technology, but added Advanced Carbon Layering. This is a restructuring of carbon fiber placement that helps increase durability and improve puck feel.
Hockey Stick Height
While standing upright with the stick in front of your body (the blade touching the ground), the stick should be positioned between your chin and nose. When wearing skates, the stick should align with your chin. Hockey sticks come in specific lengths, so not every player can simply grab a stick off the shelf and expect a perfect fit. In such cases, the stick may need to be cut or extended using an extension. Shortening the stick will increase its stiffness, while adding an extension will reduce its stiffness. Most composite hockey sticks will have markings indicating how the flex rating changes after cutting the stick.
Hockey Stick Flex
A lower flex rating means the stick is softer and easier to bend, while a higher flex rating means the stick is stiffer and requires more force to bend.
